Interdimensional Transmissions (ITHQ)
Accessibility Auditing (2019, 2022)
Interdimensional Transmissions (ITHQ) is a Detroit-based record label and event producer. Safety, accessibility, and inclusion are central to their multi-sensory environments they curate and host. Each Memorial weekend in May, they produce their largest annual event series at Detroit’s Tangent Gallery & Hastings Street Ballroom: Return to the Source. This series includes 4 parties (Tresor 313, No Way Back, Lot Mass, The Bunker).
Ani has worked to help amplify ITHQ’s “all-are-welcomed” culture through accessibility auditing, making recommendations, and advising to ensure disabled artists can perform. Additional accommodations/features of the space includes quiet areas, alcohol-free drink options, healthy food options from Pink Flamingo, safety monitors, harm reduction support, lighting of trip hazards and more. Evaluation analysis included the layout of physical space such as connected paths, restrooms, as well as environmental factors such as lighting, seating, and information that can be communicated on venue and accessible features for future events. Report also included feedback from disabled guests.
