International Documentary Association (IDA)
IDA is a legacy organization connecting nonfiction media makers and documentarian members with production and development grants and year-round programming including professional development, screening series, an annual awards event, and Documentary Magazine. Every other year, they produce “Getting Real”, a three day event gathering industry professionals
Ani served as the Accessibility Coordinator for the 2022 Getting Real hybrid conference producing 54 sessions. She managed and facilitated accessibility for over twelve-thousand participants that attended either in person in Los Angeles, through community-hubs in nearly 70 countries, as well as online. This included platform development, site planning, and communication access.While the hybrid conference experienced significant technical difficulties, Ani, along with supporting production staff, were able to ensure that American Sign Language, CART captioning, were available at every session. Spanish interpretation was available at two sessions.Review IDA’s Getting Real 22 Accessibility Statement to see what other forms of access were in place. Ani performed limited accessibility support during the formation stages of the Nonfiction Access Initiative’s (NAI) advisory committee.
